Staff at Community Well contacted with me for support with their convening of local mental health service providers in San Francisco's District 11. Their goal was to obviate the typical, time-consuming funding proposal process by collaborating to provide the City with a multi-level strategy for service provision, including immediate and longer-term actions to take. I collaborated with staff to develop the project plan, meeting protocols and a data collection systems. We generated a report of prioritized community needs, and available resources, along with recommendations and proposed budgets. In response, the City of San Francisco provided partial funding, and earmarked funding for outreach - small but significant steps in shifting the funding dynamic.
